Department: Finance

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Executive Director

Introduction:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nonprofit CFO to join our organization. As the Nonprofit CFO, you will play a critical role in managing the financial health of our organization, ensuring effective financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. You will work closely with the Executive Director and other key stakeholders to support the strategic goals and mission of our nonprofit. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the organization's mission and goals
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Manage the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • Collaborate with program leaders and other departments to develop and monitor program budgets
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes
  • Stay up-to-date with nonprofit financial best practices and industry trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations
  • Proven track record of successful financial planning and budgeting
  • Experience managing the annual audit process
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
